High intensity focused ultrasonic technology targets the superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS) which is a layer of tissue deep within the skin by triggering the body’s own regenerative response to gradually lift the skin over targeted areas such as the face and neck.
It is one of the most important support structures for the face. With age, the SMAS layer loses its elasticity and this results in saggy skin, jowls and deepening of the nasolabial folds.
